Klarna is now available on eBay

Introducing new flexible payment options for your buyers from a service they can trust.

What you need to know

Klarna’s ’Buy now, Pay Later’ services* are now available on eBay, offering buyers flexible payment options from a service they can trust. With this feature, buyers can split purchases into three interest-free payments, or pay over a longer period of time, which can help with purchases of more expensive items. In addition, when buyers use these services, sellers will receive the entire payment up front.

How it works

For buyers:

  • At checkout, the buyer selects Klarna as their payment method.
  • The buyer chooses their preferred payment option.
  • Klarna follows up with the buyer via email to confirm the payment plan.

For sellers:

  • When a buyer uses Klarna to purchase an item, you’ll receive the full payment upfront.
  • Klarna assumes any credit risks.
  • Returns are processed as usual by you. Klarna will issue a refund to the buyer once eBay confirms the item as ‘returned’.

Next steps

These payment options are now automatically available on some eligible listings and will reach more buyers on eBay.co.uk in the coming months.

FAQs

You’ll receive the full payment upfront, regardless of whether the buyer opts to pay in instalments or a longer payment period.

Returns are processed by the seller in the usual manner. Once eBay confirms that the item has been returned, Klarna will issue a refund to the buyer.

You’ll still receive your payment even if the buyer defaults on their payment.
