Great watch but not for those who follow sedentary lifestyle
5 of 5 found this helpful Previously I gave it the rating of one star and wrote the review at the end. After visiting a watchmaker I changed it to 5 stars. Here's why:
I went to an experienced watchmaker who measured how accurate watch is using a fancy device. I wanted to ask his opinion about the watch and check if it needed cleaning. He said the following (paraphrasing):
There are some people that sit at the desk most of the time or maybe are couch potatoes. They expect that somehow this watch will magically wind itself. This watch needs movement. He advised 30 min vigorous walk (with wife or a dog, if one has one :-)). Alternatively he advised for me (in my case) about 1-2 minute vigorous movement of my forearm with the watch FIRMLY in my hand before I go to bed.
His advice worked. The watch works really well.
PS. I work at a desk all day so his diagnosis was correct.
PS. My previous review was here (and now is INVALID because this was a watch user error :-))
"I worn this watch during the day. I took off at night (when I was sleeping). The watch Seiko Men's Seiko 5 Automatic Blue Canvas Strap Watch SNK807 that I bought from ebay, would stop working 2-3 hours later. It was a disaster. However, I bought another Seiko watch, Seiko 5 Sport SNZG15J1 Automatic Black Dial Nylon Analog Japan Made Round Watch, also from ebay. This one keeps time well and I can take it off at night and still would work in the morning. I would not buy Seiko 5 Automatic Watch SNK807 again."

I got an item which needs $375 in repairs to work properly in the future :-(
0 of 11 found this helpful I thought I got a good deal on ebay, but the watch was slow about 2-3 minutes every day. I took it to the watchmaker that said: "There’s a screw that goes into a tube that holds the crown wheel in place. And that comes up and down every so often and it's actually interfering with the automatic unit and it's actually starting to shave some of the metal off the weight. Most likely some of the shaving I've gone into the movement so that I have to clean it and then I have to get either the tube, if the tube is not available, I need to get that plate for that screw to go back in so it's all said and done the estimate to do this for you is around $375."
I'm not sure if this is the watch or particular copy that I bought but it looks that this particular watch is an expensive paper weight :-)

nice casual watch that keeps great time
4 of 4 found this helpful I found this watch very accurate (I think I adjust it every two-three weeks and not by much). However, if you are a couch potato buy a battery operated watch. This watch requires some movement of your hands and wrists (vigorous walk for 30+ min or moving your wrist for about 1-2 min a day will also do).
