Fabulous optics without breaking the bank.
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this lens after reading reviews which indicated that it was better than the similarly-priced Sigma, and considerably less expensive than Canon's own brand. It hasn't disappointed. I haven't used it a great deal as yet, but I have been on one extended photoshoot to give it a good workout and have managed to get some stunning pictures - or at least I think so! Having only had it for four days I managed to drop it out of my pocket onto flagstones. It bounced well, but hasn't been damaged by the experience, which says something about the robust construction. I just LOVE this lens.

Little whoppers
These speakers are amazing for their size, with an impressive bass and a lovely overall sound. Obviously you could spend a lot more on bigger speakers that would perform better - perhaps much better - but I don't think that they would be as handy next to your computer. For the money these are excellent!
In fact they were recommended in an issue of "Computer Act!ve" and there was a link to the least expensive seller that they had found. They were cheaper on eBay.

Good, but could have been so much better
Let's get it out right at the start - I am a big fan of the Dransfields. I used to go to see them at the university folk club back in the late 60s, and they were always terrific value, so it's a shame that I can't give this disc the accolade that I might have done.
The music is absolutely fine, and Barry's playing is well up to standard (Robin very much takes a back seat on most tracks). Whether or not you like the electric sound is personal taste - I personally don't have a problem with it.
What I do have a problem with are the vocals. Barry has a very effective and attractive voice but I simply cannot hear the words. Yes, I know that I am at the age when you could expect some deafness (and I won't totally deny it) but yet I have a copy of "Contrary to popular belief" by the Dransfields which has bonus tracks at the end that cover most of the content of "Fiddler's Dream". These tracks are either live or sessions recorded during rehearsals for the John Peel show on the radio, and I can hear every word on those. I can warmly recommend "Contrary to popular belief" over "Fiddler's Dream".
It's such a shame that the latter didn't live up to expectations.
