Great knife for all-around work in the kitchen.
This Victorinox long paring knife is my go-to knife for all around work in the kitchen. I use it all the time except when I need a large chef's knife for larger cutting and mincing. It sharpens well and holds an edge for a while especially when touching up the blade with a long sharpening steel. I plane on getting another one for a spare and camping excursions.

Needs a minor redesign.
I am certainly glad to see that the wire gauge set was made in the USA but couldn't see from the picture that the bases that hold the wire gauges were made of plastic... no big deal but the little cut-out places where you would push your finger or thumb on the plastic bases to get at the wire gauges doesn't work as even though you press the bases out as far as you can the wire gauges aren't exposed enough to even get your finger nail in far enough to lever out the wire gauges. I have to use a small flathead screwdriver to push them out so I can use them. A redesign of the plastic bases so the bases are wider on one side where the cut-outs are would make it work. This is why I gave it four stars.

Carving Classical Styles in Wood by Fred Wilbur (2004)
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a very good reference book for the study of woodcarving of classical styles and traditional and does show some techniques and how-to's but mostly a visual reference. What it does show in 'how-to and technique' is very valuable and helpful for me because it has some things that I didn't know before. But I know other 'woodcarving books' do not and cannot cover all aspects in the study of woodcarving because it is too broad a subject. I'm giving it a one notch less than a perfect 'exelent' mark only because me, being a beginer to the art, wish this book had more how-to and technique than it does. other than that it may be the perfect book for others.
