A very good microphone
I have carried out several tests comparing the Panasonic VW-WMS10K microphone against the internal microphone of my Panasonic VX980 camcorder. The microphone gives a clearer sound and has a better directional feel to it. By that I mean that it picks up less sound from behind the camcorder. The stereo separation is good and the windjammer does a great job in minimising wind noise.
The microphone is small enough to fit easily into a small camcorder bag.
I paid £61 for the microphone on EBay which I consider excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
