Quick fun, for fans of the show or movies.
For anybody who's watched The Toxic Avenger, it's sequels, or Toxic Crusaders (the TV show) This game is definitely for you. Getting to play as The Toxic Avenger, or "Toxie" as he's named here, is definitely really fun. The game is your standard side-scrolling brawler... similar, in many aspects to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game". However, the game isn't quite the fever dream that "TMNT: The Arcade Game" or "TMNT: Turtles in Time" was. You still have 2-player co-op play, and you can choose between 3 different characters. There's not many modes, just a single-player story mode and that's it, but you don't really need that many for this type of game. One of the biggest things holding the game back is it's combat system. The fighting just doesn't ever seem very accurate, and sometimes you wonder if you're doing any damage at all. Also, if you don't know the characters from the show, half of the game's charm might become lost on you. That's not to say the game isn't fun, though. In fact, there's something very satisfying about using your mop as a golf club and putting your little yellow buddy into the face of an enemy. Not to mention the stages are varied and keep things from getting too boring. Also, if you ever wanted to see a video game based on The Toxic Avenger... right now, this is the closest thing we've got. Overall, I give the game a 3/5. While it has it's faults, it's still fun and has enough variety to keep things interesting... even if the combat itself does get boring after a while.

One of, if not THE greatest game consoles ever made!
The Super Nintendo (also known by many as the Super NES, or the SNES) is a very memorable game console. If you were a kid in the 90's, you've most likely at the VERY LEAST played a SNES once over your friend's house, if not many times if you've owned one previously... and i'm willing to bet that it was a very memorable moment. However, if you have never played one before, (which is probobly why you're reading this review in the first place) then you're in for a treat. The SNES is a Console LIKE NO OTHER. It has a wide variety of games ranging from your standard Beat em' Ups (Final Fight, TMNT: Turtles in Time), to side scrolling platformers (Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Megaman X, Castlevania: Dracula X), to Role Playing Games (Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound), to Action/Adventure games (Super Metriod, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past), to Fighting game classics (Mortal Kombat II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo), and even some Firt-Person-Shooters! (Doom) There'll always be something new and different waiting for you inside each and every game cart on this system. You'll want to play it for hours, and then go back and play some more! But honestly, i'm starting to sound like some cheap advertisement, let's get into the meat of this review... The SNES has various graphical features: -16-bit color scheme, allowing 16 colors on screen at one time. -"Mode 7" Sprite manipulation, allowing for various 3-D "esque" graphics. -Super FX chip, introduced in later games such as Starfox and Doom... allowed for full 3D renderings. But really, I just can't stop talking about the games. The games library is so superb that I personally can't stop collecting them and playing them all! and the 2-player games on SNES are also very superb. Simple and fun, the SNES is basically a Must-own if you like classic 2D gaming. I'd say, next to arcades, the SNES is the pinnacle of 2D gaming, so definitely buy it if you're a fan of 2D.
