Rented it first, then had to buy it. Probably the most fun multiplayer game on XBOX I've played..............................................................................................

Same great game
1 of 1 found this helpful I have all the old GH's for my PS2. I wanted to get the new one for the 360 because I heard they have download able content. Game is still awesome, but I guess you can now play with drums, bass, and vocals too. You can make your own rockstar now. I went on XBOX live and bought the Jimi Hendrix, and the classic rock packs. They have lots of others too.
The new guitar is awesome. It has a detachable neck, and the buttons are easier to access. It has a new strip on it that lets you simulate Eddie Van Halen style hammering technique. Just plain nice looking too. Only one problem. The only official battery charging kit for this device supposedly sucks: (pricey, and doesn't seem to charge well), but it does say "guitar Hero" on it. Many reviewers recommended simply buying a good AA battery charger for the lower cost and better performance.
The game itself is great. I'm 36, and saw my little brother playing GH1 the first time a few years back. I thought "Why are they playing a little kids game, and having so much fun?". I ignored their immature game, until I caught some of the music it featured. I realized from the music selection that the game could be as popular with adults as with kids. It seemed to have all the old classic rock songs that you love playing air guitar too. Good new songs too, with plenty of difficulty levels. The whole attitude of the game is humorous and fun. The prop (guitar), makes it cost more than most games, but it also makes the game funner. It's made me appreciate the custom controller experience. You may be able to get less games when you buy their fancy controllers, but it's worth it. Fighting stick for fighting games, Wheel for racing games, makes the experience awesome, like being in an arcade from the eighties. I recommend this game above all others (right now), and I usually like violent shooters or RPS's.
