Better quality than most Chinese radios. The only programming software I could find works with Windows 7, not later. Plugging the radio into the charger disables it, even after it's unplugged. To re-enable it, insert it into a charger that's plugged in or remove the battery. The remote alarm only works directly with other KG-833's. Pressing the remote alarm button does not send an audio alarm but rather a series of touch-tones that activates the remote radio's audible alarm. The remote alarm feature may not work through a repeater which does not pass the first few touch tones.
