Excellent Easel
1 of 1 found this helpful I would suggest studying the drawings of the easel and thinking of how it fits together before doing anything. Also divide the letters on packages and numbers on packages, so that you understand where items are as they are needed in steps. I almost put the canvas holding tray on upside down, but I stopped and thought it through and realized what was going to happen before. Check out Youtube for H-Frame assembly for help. After it's put together, it is extremely solid. Excellent easel, just takes a little thought with the directions which only have a few, very small drawings. But it is extremely sturdy.

Excellent teacher
Besides being an extremely good artist, Richard Schmid also is a very kind, generous man, in that he's concerned about teaching what he's demonstrating in a way that learning artists will understand. He's outside painting, in front of a group of people for about half of the DVD, and because he's taken the time to explain to them (and the viewer) he finishes up the painting in his studio, explaining what he's doing all along the way. Excellent value and a very caring, kind man.

Fantastic Value with a lot of mixing area!
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a fantastic palette. It's got large mixing areas, and since I use a limited palette, the extra squares I use also to mix. I have one for plein air and one for demonstrating to my art students and I have one more in case I need it. It folds so that it doesn't take up much room when not in use.
