Kitchen Table Wisdom : Stories That Heal by Rachel Naomi Remen (1997, Paperback)
    18 May, 2016
Kitchen Table Wisdom is a gem!
This is an inspiring and wonder full collection of stories. The author is a physician and counsellor. Her discovery, over arc of her training and practice, of the importance of personal connection with patients is amazing and heartrending and inspirational. I ordered this book, although I have read it before several times, to give to a friend. Then I found myself reading whole thing again before I sent it. A keeper! Can be read one chapter at a time or “eaten whole” ... the stories do heal.
    Nop's Hope

Recommendation and a warning to dog lovers
First, you need to read Nop's Trials first. Family, dogs, setting, background are there. That is a GREAT book, although not easy to read, if you love dogs. It' gets rough. I recommend Nop's Trials. Story sticks with you. I've read it 3 times ... I am in process of finishing Nop's Hope story. Totally invested in the protagonists, both the human and the dog. I put book down last night, at a critical juncture, because I was just not ready to find out what happens next. Again, great story, well told and for me very real. Hope it ends well! (Nop's Trial did.)
