Powerline defeats thick walls

I have used Devolo Powerline products for over 10 years to get Ethernet & WiFi to distant corners of my house which being old has thick solid walls. Powerline sends Internet signals via the 13amp mains sockets. I purchased the Magic 2 as this provides about 10 times the speed of my old kit. Easy to set up providing two Ethernet ports and Wifi at each of the adaptors. Set-up as a Mesh system so WiFi code is the same from each adaptor with devices connecting to the point with the best signal.

Charges different battery types

Most chargers will only charge 2 or 4 batteries ie must be in pairs. This charger is useful in its ability to not only charge a single battery but also two of different sizes /voltages at the same time. LCD display shows the progress of the charging and the voltage. The spring loaded contact sliders, which adjust to different battery lengths, can be fiddly to extend.

Easy to use Remote Sockets

Very easy to set up. Radio remote control has 4 on/off buttons which can control remote sockets individually or can be set to turn on/off a group of sockets. Each socket has two 4 position code switches on its rear. One switch controls which channel/button the socket responds to the other allows multiple sets (4) to be used without interference. There is a group selection switch on the back of the remote control. Thus it is possible to control up to 16 sockets independently. Purchased to replace identical units to those which used to be sold by Maplin. The Maplin units, whilst good and easy to use, the sockets did tend to ultimately fail after a few years - refusing to stay on. I suspect that the same may happen with these but still recommend their purchase. Nothing in life is perfect.
