Works for replacing cheap mic on IC-7100
2 of 2 found this helpful I desired to replace the pretty much worthless mic that comes with the Icom IC-7100 with a mic that is on the IC-7300 (the HM-219) This seems to do the job just perfectly.

Excellent dummy load for HF work
Motorola obviously spec'd this out to be a top flite dummy load. I have a few other brand models and not one (except this one) actually read 50 ohms when metered. They run 52 -56 for the most part...not a big deal maybe...but I appreciate the quality designed into this load.

Very impressed so far
I am using this mini-whip atop a well grounded 15' metal pole about 30' from the house. Small town neighborhood so QRM isn't too bad here. I have it connected to an SDR Play RSP2 and tested it against a 250' random wire on the Hi impedance port of the RSP2.
On LW and MW bands the long wire is superior. On HF bands where the mini-whip is designed for though it does quite well. The Random wire antenna has the edge, although both work well, up to about 20 mHz. Above 20mHz and up to 30 mHz the mini whip comes into its own and is a clear winner.
