Google Chromecast Audio 2nd Generation Media Streamer - Black

Good in theory - less so thanks to google trying to be far too clever.
When I first discovered this it was the best thing since whatever you know what..... Getting the finest BBC sounds to my DAC and the best radio sound ever, and also bought three more for other rooms around the house, they all played perfectly in sync for days on end. Sadly of more recent times, google has tried to be too clever for its own good. I'm unsure if it's the Chromecast Audio system of the google home app, but it tells me the only available device to cast is the only one that isn't actually powered! The devices disconnect and cause the BBC Sounds app to play on my phone in the middle of the night. What was once a dream device has degenerated into a nightmare. I have also had lesser issues with my TV chromecasts, which leads me to suspect the root might be the google home app. Just look at the reviews in the playstore - almost unanimously panned!
