Demented Fun
1 of 1 found this helpful This is by no means a great movie in terms of acting or direction but it is full of great ideas and, so long as you're not looking for anything too thought provoking (Solaris it ain't), a lot of fun.
It is in fact quite hard to compare this to any other movie out there as it is very unique; undead bikers terrorizing hapless supermarket shoppers in the home counties is a very niche genre. Add in toad worship, stone circles, Beryl Reid, a very bemused looking George Sanders who looks like he can't quite believe that he is actually in the movie and a fantastically atmospheric psyched out acid rock soundtrack and you have a very bizarre, but hugely enjoyable cult classic.
In terms of picture this blu ray is easily the best the film has ever looked. There still some issues, notably some color strobing in a couple of scenes, although this could just be down to the technology being unable to handle the fantastically over the top 70's wall paper.
Overall, very highly recommended.
