California Interurbans History all in one book! A must read!
Awesome summary of West Coast Interurbans by one of the best rail Historians in the world. Much detail covering so many electric railroads. To quote the book, The Golden State of California was once a beehive of interurban electric railways, and the interurban played a major role in the development of intercity public transportation. This book presents a pictorial history of California interurbans. Over 290 pages of photos and text, a book well worth adding to your collection.

Great book absolutely a must if you are interested in the La Brea Tar Pits
This book is absolutely a must if you are interested in the La Brea Tar Pits or its history. Cathy McNassor(the author) has done an excellent job of collecting just the right photos and captioning them with interesting and informative facts. I worked for the Natural History Museum in the Vertebrate Paleontology lab from 1965-69 back when Pit 91 was reopened and this book brought back many wonderful memories.
For those who are interested in Los Angeles history this book covers what was once a very rural area now the center of Museum row. There are 127 B/W pages covering both the people who worked the pits and George Allan Hancock, who owned the land and donated it to the County of Los Angeles. Highly recommended for adults, children and well priced.
