Efficient, quiet, and stable
My basement and crawl spaces are not sealed or encapsulated, but, even in this situation, the Aprilair dehumidifier keeps the humidity 20 points lower than without it.

Useful but limited
When I use binoculars with say 50mm aperture on the sky I am delighted to see so many more stars; however, the magnification so decreases the field of view that I find it is difficult to figure out where I am looking. Over the last few years, I’ve become increasingly frustrated at not really knowing where I was looking – too much information in the visual field.
I realized that, especially when looking for faint stellar objects at or just beyond the limits of the naked eye’s abilities, I needed to enhance my eyesight with binoculars, but I needed binoculars with a field of view sufficiently wide to see several of the stars that make up a constellation. With these Bushnells I can see the complete trapezoid of the constellation of Hercules and can pick out the faint stars of Leo Minor. Almost no companies produce low power extra wide field of view binoculars, so these are a valuable find.
On the negative side, the Perma Focus feature works by you bringing your eyes to focus rather than adjusting the focus of the binoculars. This works OK in day-time use, but does not work well on the night-time sky. The stars remain out of focus unless you strain your eyes to bring a single star into focus, which is possible. However, as soon as you move your eyes to other stars, the field of stars immediately goes out of focus.
There was a company in England that produced binoculars of the same aperture and power as the Bushnells and they were focusable, but those binoculars are no longer available. I find the Bushnells useful because of the extra-wide field of view, but of limited value because of the Perma Focus feature. This becomes increasingly the case as one grows older and one’s eyes loose their flexibility.
In sum, these binoculars are useful if your eyes can easily shift focus in daily life. If that is not the case, pass them by.
