Arrival is a good film

The Master - of dead end story lines.
The story could have had potential, but went AWOL. Awful film, so boring and it really goes nowhere insofar as the plot. Yes, it's about brainwashing, cult things.
I felt completely brainwashed by the end of it, and my girlfriend was truly at the end of her tether by half way through. I once saw another of Phillip S Hoffman's films which was equally long winded and mind numbing, tortuous script, etc... How this was nominated for an Oscar is quite telling about Hollywood. They just can't make a good film these days.
