What a talent Mr Costello.
Whilst watching the old series of GBH and Jakes Progress on Channel Fours, 4oD,I was struck by the musical score. Such powerful music I couldn't wait to 'stream' the next episode to 'listen' let alone enjoy good British drama. Imagine my surprise, unless you are already aware that is, when I discovered the score was written, in conjunction with a partner, by Elvis Costello. A name that took me back more than thirty years. No!! The scores for both programmes is outstanding. The emotive pieces brilliantly support the scenes, embellishes the drama as it unfolds. It is clear that the storyline was followed intensely by this gifted duo. Very reminiscent, very indicative of the quality of TV back in the good old days. Days when good drama was par for the course. I am now in hot pursuit of any other scores that Mr Costello and Mr Richard Harvey have quietly and surreptitiously composed.

Morse Magic
1 of 1 found this helpful If you loved the Morse series you will love this collection of beautiful soundtracks. Each track different from the previous, and stands in its own rights as a masterpiece. Barrington Pheloung is a name I now look for whenever a piece of music grabs my attention. Sure enough his name is there in the credits. A consummate composer with a seemingly endless talent for scoring perfect pieces for TV and film. A firm favourite amongst lovers of good music. I chose this CD originally because of the Morse series, because I love Barrington-Pheloung's work and I was not disappointed. Some tracks are for listening, others are happy in the background which is why this compilation is perfect for solitary listening and relaxation or for dinner parties.

Traveller
This cd is priced perfectly.
Every track is exceptional and sound reproduction awesome in the car or on a Denon mini system.
Would recommend to any country music fans, but adding this is a little different to old school country.
Its refreshing, modern and a must to any collection.
