Well worth reading.
My mother passed away, and when I heard about this book, I wanted to read it. I am a fan of CS Lewis, as was mom. Although this book describes his pain following his wife's death from a terminal illness, and my mother died suddenly and unexpectedly, there are parallels in our feelings. I gained comfort from knowing someone shared the same type of grief I did, and that there is hope after the pain of loss. CS Lewis is amazingly articulate, and he captured the essence of how I was feeling, and could put those feelings to words in a way I never could. Although mourning is an incredibly personal experience (no one can really know how we feel, because they are not us), there is a community of suffering from which we can gain insight and comfort. On the other hand, if you have not experienced tremendous loss, I am not certain how this book would be beneficial, except as an autobiography of sorts.

A cute book, but not exceptional.
I thought the concept of the story was very nice, and enjoyed the illustrations. However, I think the story was somewhat lacking. I thought the concept was good, but thought more could be made of it. It seemed almost like a lazy way to tell the "story." I guess my problem is that it really wasn't much of a story. I will probably embellish the story a bit as I read it to my children. However, I got this book for a very good price, so for what I paid I guess it is worth it. I would not want to pay full price for this book.

A great depiction of an amazing woman.
I saw this movie in the theater and enjoyed it so much that I purchased it for myself and as a gift for someone else. Rarely can you watch a movie that has great acting, terrific costumes, and an historically accurate screenplay. Add to these qualities the fact the movie has no offensive language or scenes, and it is easily one of the more enjoyable films I've seen in the past year.
