    Gone but not forgotten
I'll always remember Paul Davis as a refreshing break from the counter-culturists of the late 60's and 70's. Here was a guy who found a way to write and sing nice songs that were not offensive, did not require a lot of deep introspection and yet they stand out now as I listen back to them for their purity and their authenticity. Ride-em Cowboy is a terrific song which one would believe was written by a real washed-up cowboy...yet Paul Davis was never a cowboy. Then you listen to his best contemporary offerings and you appreciate his ability to change with the times, without selling out his music. Gone too soon, and missed for the music and for the kinship the music inspired.

    Slightly disappointed
Slightly disappointed because it appears a few tracks were not the original studi versions but appear to have been re-done by Dave...which is OK, but I prefer the originals...also disappointed that they opted to put the 'live' version of "Girls Talk"...and unless your name is Bob Seger or Peter Frampton, chances are i am not going to like your live stuff as well. Dave Edmunds is a phenomenally gifted producer and a whiz in the studio, which is why I prefer his studio work to anything live. But I am a big fan regardless.

Funny how silly we all look after 26 years
Henley is always going to be one of my 5 or 6 favorite Eagles. I enjoy most of this album...but the ultimate chuckle is to be found in listening to him rant on about how Ronald Reagan was going to get us all killed with nukes. Here we are...still above ground...and now Henley and the Eagles are sounding the warning cry about Iraq(Out of Eden). I am sure in another 26 years we'll all be reflecting how insightful they were back in '08. Anyhow...I Can't Stand Still was a good breakout album, and I enjoy listening to it.
