Good for shooting AND for transferring old tapes
Not many people shoot on tape any more, not even miniDV. But lots of us shot on miniDV over the years, and now need to preserve those memories on hard drives. I bought this camera less to shoot with (though it is and EXCELLENT shooting tool!) than to back up my old tapes--move them to external hard drives. Particularly since I had shot them on a Canon Vixia, it's good to use this, not just any (like Sony, etc.) miniDV camera to play them back. This one was in perfect condition, the seller was quick and responsive--I have only positive things to say!

Excellent for the kind of cutting other saws won't do
When you need the kind of cutting this does and a circular saw or a table saw or even a sabre saw won't do it, this is the perfect solution. It comes with only one blade, but I bought a good supply of various types for about $10 and feel ready now for anything.

My dog takes one a day and I take two a day and I think we ache less than before!
