This is FREE at most UK Mercedes dealers. And you have to visit MB to activate it. So why pay for it?
13 of 15 found this helpful I bought one on eBay, and when I found I would have to get it activated by MB themselves, AND that this is FREE from most Mercedes dealers, I returned it unused two days later. Why pay for it? I read that if you go o to most Merc dealerships and they supply, install it and activate it free, and that was true.
In any case, it looks like it is not very useful on pre-2014 cars. Very limited benefits and a bit of an 'iffy' connection with my iPhone. Briliant if you have a very recent car with all of the facilities built-into the car, but this plug-in adaptor has really limited use with 2009-2013 cars.
The other thing is that Mercedes apparently receives all of your data on their servers.
From their point of view, they get to know the intimate details of your servicing needs, so they can call you in. Makes commercial sense for them. Also mileage, speeds, dates, locations, etc., so the data includes all of your journeys. How long before the insurance companies know too!
So I decided to get mine free from my local MB dealer. But I really don't know whether I'll keep it in the car, now I know how little benefit it will give me. But it did make me drool when I went to the MB place and saw how much things had moved on. A veritable jewellery store!
