Power configuration makes this display perfect for your MMDVM project.
When buying displays for MMDVM projects you must be careful to get one with the correct power pin arrangement. This model has VDD on pin 1 (most common). You can also move 0 ohm resistors on the back of the board to swap VDD and GND (if required).
