Old time varnish too tough for it
Didn't touch the old varnish, had to clean it off and sand instead. Haven't used it on paint so it may perform better....or not.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, well it would if it came in a tin.
Have an old leather settee that has endured attention of a couple of cats over the years and some scratches have become splits. Bought one patch to try out and it worked well so went for a second. Patches mould well around difficult areas like the arm of the chair where they are formed into tight curves and have stayed stuck, now a couple of weeks since using the second and a couple of months since the first. Colour match was good but that may just be my good fortune.
I would recommend, just line the patch up with your tears before removing backing so you have a good idea were to place the patch when you mean business. Also use leather cleaner first to degrease area and wipe that well and the patch grabs like a limpet. Very good.

Works well
1 of 1 found this helpful Have an old settee in solid condition but has suffered from several years of cats using the arms as a ski jump. The leather has been roughed up and gone brittle. The first application of the wax smoothed the roughness and improved the brittleness. I think further coats will take the damaged areas back to a condition similar to the non-cat-attacked patches.
