A well made long range zoom point and shoot camera
1 of 1 found this helpful The Olympus SP 565 with its improved info screen and boosted image quality to 10 MP is a step up over previous models. The changed menus do take some getting used to. The camera also has an annoying feature of telling you it can't take a picture for some absurd reason, but an experienced photographer can overcome this with some manipulation. Olympus ships the camera with a cheap useless thin strap. The cast aluminum body gives the camera a solid feel and is superior to the cheap plastic appearance of the corresponding Nikon Coolpix model.

Small & compact with good images
1 of 2 found this helpful The small and compact A 520 will give you good images once you've learned how to navigate Canon's menu. A 4x lens also gives you the extra reach that you might need for distant subjects. Images have great color and good sharpness. The use of only 2 AA batteries is very handy especially with inexpensive and long lasting hydride rechargeables. The display though does not accurately show the color of your shots and the camera is notorious for its fragility but attaching the strap and keeping it in a pouch will give you good protection. Bottom line: it a great value in a handy compact package!
