Good enough quality for my needs

Good isolation from the mounting chassis, electrically sound, mechanically strong. Limited use so far, so can't comment on longevity.

The ideal platform for building simple robot prototypes

Finest northern European engineering that even appeals to children! No, really. It took a certain mindset way back in the 1940's to come up with the underlying concepts for this very clever, modern construction set. There are many other competing formats out there, but the TECHNIC construction format is mechanically far more rigid and lighter and allows for greater creative expression than any of the others out there. Integration with other technologies is achieved through the usual "maker" techniques of cable ties, hot-melt glue and duct tape. This makes it an ideal platform for building simple robot prototypes.

White Metal Polishing/Buffing/Cleaning Compound 500g

It does the job well.

The compound applies well to a leather strop and the polishing and sharpening of workshop tools that can be achieved is fantastic. Make no mistake: if you don't have a stop wheel and just a strop plank, then be prepared for some hard labour to achieve this result. If there is one criticism, then it is that it is very brittle. Sometimes small bits break off when one applies the compound to a strop or a buffing wheel. The block was also broken in two pieces when it arrived in the post, so I think that it could benefit from better packaging, since it was wrapped in a cling film only. All things considered, one can't polish metal without a compound like this, and this was the best value for money that I could find.
