RUSH in Rio rocks
After a several years in hiding RUSH reappeared on the rock scene with a fresh new album, Vapor Trails, and a world wide promotional tour. This DVD chronicles three nights in Brazil where despite foul weather complications the Canadian power trio with a reputation for high standards and challenging, compelling music managed to outshine themselves. RUSH IN RIO is a brilliant collection of some of the best music in the genre. The performance, the sound quality, the timing, the harmony and melody are brilliant. Through the spectacular three hour show there is an underlying spirit in the stage presence of the musicians. Their humor, intelligence and musical integrity are plainly evident. Early in the carreer of RUSH the term 'progressive rock' was a label applied to guitarist, Alex Lifeson, bass/keyboard/vocalist Geddy Lee and percussionist Neil Peart. It is an apt description for a band that continually gets better at their craft and this DVD clearly shows why.

And The Juniper Trees Bore Fruit [Thunder Over the Ochoco]

Ontko's Ochoco Volume Five.
THUNDER OVER THE OCHOCO, Andrew Gale Ontko's five-volume account of the Shoshoni nation's ill-fated encounter with the European invasion, is in my humble opinion some of the best scholarship on America history ever conducted. At the very least, he should have gotten a Pulitzer Prize.
Programmed to Kill: The Politics of Serial Murder- McGowan-2004- Manson-Dahmer
25 Apr, 2020
Programmed to kill
'PROGRAMMED TO KILL,' by the late Dave McGowan is a gut-wrenching, horrifying, and en-ragingly convincing read. It is very hard to understand how in the 21st century the news can be so full of serial murderers, killing sprees and cult-crimes but McGowan draws together a compelling case: Something systematic is going into the creation of sociopathic monsters. Before you finish reading this you will think that there may be a very deliberate and scientific effort behind such things as Columbine, numerous preschool scandals, and the Manson Family. Just one piece of advise; don't read it alone. Recommended.
