Victorinox Scales for 91mm Swiss Army Knife - Genuine Swiss Victorinox handles

RENOVATE THAT OLD KNIFE
I have an old Victorinox knife with broken cover "scales" and bought a new knife because I thought it was too tatty to carry around. I then discovered these which make the old knife appear like new. The old scales are fairly easy to lever off with a small flat bladed screwdriver and the new ones are easy to fit if you have a vice - locate the new scales on the brass ferrules on the knife, then wrap masking tape round the new scales to hold locate them in place and wrap the old scales on top to protect the new scales from marking by the vice. The masking tape and old scales method should also work to protect the new scales when fitting them by tapping them into place with a rubber or wooden mallet - preferable to a steel faced hammer !

USEFUL WAY OF AVOIDING EARTH LOOP HUM ON HI-FI AMPLIFIERS
Useful device to eliminate earth hum from satellite or Freeview tuners on hi-fi amplifiers - by using a DAC connected to the optical output of the tuner, the earth loop hum that was present from the RCA outputs is removed. This device was selected because the 5v input socket is away from the RCA sockets, so it is possible to plug in to the amplifier with double ended RCA plug adaptors and avoid additional cables. The device also has a higher sampling rate than some other units, which may help so nd quality, although I could not detect any difference.
