As my name implies, I’m interested in movies, particularly those of the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s. To make room on the shelves for new titles I often sell some of my DVDs — duplicates, those I know I will not watch again, and those I have managed to obtain in an alternative format more suited to my own home setup. All are in good condition and have been tested by playing through. Because of the commercial aspects of DVD distribution, some movies are only available in Region 1 (US and Canada) format and do not play on standard British DVD players. These are always flagged as such. My other items for sale include computer accessories (generally Mac) and some specialist craft videos.

    Considering the original film was released in 1933, this is a flawless and quite sharp image wise, dvd. The sound is a bit tinny and thin, but that was how soundtracks were in those days. Overall, I am very satisfied with this disc, and enjoyed watching it. Lovely to see all these famous young actresses at the start of their film careers. The soundtrack ‘Gold Diggers’ along with the accompanying dance routines were a delight to see; all reproduced in very good dvd quality.

One for the history books
This is a very early gangster movie, and hence is rather primitive in style — it still uses a few text screens telling you what happened. That considered, the characterization and locations are quite impressive and Edward G is not to be missed. See it once, but you probably won't want to see it again.
