Light Weight Pickle Fork, Easy to Use
I bought this to replace one which was lost in transit when we moved home. The Pickle Fork is well made, light weight, easy to use and looks quite elegant with a wooden end-piece. My only 'Niggle' is down to the fact that it's a tad on the blunt side and a bit of force is needed to skewer the onions. Other than that, it's fine.

The 1st of a Series of Books About The 1850's Police & the Railways.
"The Railway Detective," It's 1851... Edward Marston introduces us to Detective Inspector Robert Colbeck of Scotland Yard. A charming, some say 'dandy,' gentleman of the Victorian school, Colbeck seems an unlikely person for his job--solving cases and catching the crooks in 1850s England. He is in fact a former barrister who quits his job to join the Metropolitan Police, why is made clear later in the series. It is the dawn of the age of the locomotive and it does not come peaceably. There are enough "foes" of this "new fangled contraption" and many will try to put a stop to it and the 'New Age' that's dawning on the British Empire. Early on we know who the baddies are, as Marston, unlike some, doesn't play games with the reader. Instead, he permits Colbeck & his Sgt Leeming to methodically put the pieces of the puzzle together and, despite the usual suspects and the usual obstacles, arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. A train is high-jacked in the first chapter and is deliberately de-railed. It's carrying gold bullion from the Royal Mint as well as the day's mail. The robbery is carried out with true military precision (a clue Colbeck quickly picks up). It is such a perfect and professional job that Scotland Yard knows that there has to be "insiders" involved. There are some murders along the way but Colbeck cleverly links them to the robbery and the case is solved. Marston tells a story that not only serves to keep our interest in solving the crime but provides much readable background of the time and place. He comes from a railway background and has an excellent knowledge of his subject. Some of the characters are real people from the railway industry.

    A Really great movie
When Tom Selleck took on the roll, he insisted that all the firearm used in the movie were authentic to the period, and it shows! ;The late, Alan [Sidney Patrick] Rickman, once again cast as the arch villain of the piece plays the part in his usual superb way. All-in-all, a movie worth watching
