Awesome price/performance value
I’ve heard that quality control on these lenses isn’t great, but based on my experience only with this one lens, I’m very impressed.
Most reviews praise the vintage character of the lens, which I completely agree with. I’m also pleasantly surprised at how sharp it gets when stopped down a bit. Even wide open, it’s plenty sufficient for my expectations. I don’t feel like I’m sacrificing image quality for the sake of price and charm.
Solid fit for my Fujifilm X-T100. Build quality and size are great too!

Very compact for being such a wide zoom

Hard-to-beat value proposition
1 of 1 found this helpful I’ve done a lot of research on entry-priced cameras that have a reputation for punching well above their weight in terms of features and performance. The M50’s combo of performance and features is hard to beat. There are two things I don’t like about it: 1) The Canon M mirrorless lens mount is amazingly compact but lacks broad selection; and 2) the camera’s controls leave a lot to be desired for those who like to go full manual.
