A more accessible edition into 40k
8th Edition of 40k I feel was a great introduction into the hobby for new players, rebooting the system away from a convoluted 7th edition; This was a breath of fresh air and made it so accessible for players to pick up the game.
For me this was how I was able to ease into it, and I have forged many great moments in game amongst friends through the various scenarios this rulebook had to offer, over the years. Though there were various loopholes that could be easily exploited and made for some broken tactics, such as hiding units out of reach on top of buildings or claiming two objectives with a single unit in a conga line. These were subsequently fixed with the release of 9th Edition as the rules became standardised; However with plenty more rules to remember such as the introduction of 'core' units, terrain rules and the bucket load of stratagems available for each faction, it makes the game harder to follow even for experienced players.
The simplicity and chaotic nature of 8th I loved so much, which is why I decided to keep a copy of the previous edition for myself.
