Needs equalization to reduce bass
I bought these speakers to replace a powered set (without subwoofer) that died after many years of use. Initially I found the sound quality of these new speakers unacceptable. The speakers have a very non-standard frequency response curve in which the bass from the subwoofer is grossly excessive. The loud rumbling makes the other frequencies difficult to hear and speech difficult to understand. I use these on a gaming PC which has a 10-band graphic equalizer for tuning sound quality, and with the lowest 3 bands turned down all the way the rumbling is eliminated. The sound quality is then pretty good. But that's what it takes! If you have EQ or good tone controls these speakers will work fine for you - otherwise they will be unusable. As other reviewers have commented, they badly need their own tone controls or some presets that offer different response curves.
Update - I am improving my rating based on additional use. You will need the EQ or tone controls for some sources that have unbalanced low frequency content. Classic movies are risky. But with decent inputs - most modern DVDs that I have tried - the sound of these speakers is very good for the low cost. I still consider the design to be flawed because some kind of low frequency cutoff should be supplied with the system.

good little timer
This is a great value, particularly if you have the time to order it out of China for $3.50! My only complaints are 1) that the buttons need to be depressed too far and have no feedback 2) the thing is so light you really cannot use it when stuck to the refrigerator with a magnet. But functionally it is great.

Simple, easy to use machine.
2 of 2 found this helpful Simple to use. Memory recall of data can be handy. My only negative point is that the cuff is too large for a small person or child. It takes up my entire upper arm and cannot be 1/2" away from the inner elbow as described in the instructions. It also is better suited to really fat arms than thin arms - way long for me! But it is a good machine.
