Firmware issue?
Something was wrong with the device's firmware. I have a list of about 127 songs and when they were played, the unit would play about 3-7 of these and then would shut off, even though the battery was fully charged, etc.
This subject unit was purchased to replace the previously owned unit. In retrospect, the earlier purchased MP3 player (identical because of the good service) may have been a bit newer than the subject unit and I had no problem with it until after several years of faithful service, it failed. This subject unit was purchased to replace the previously owned unit. So needless to say I was a bit disappointed with the new purchase.
