A+ Quality, Tilts and Panoramas
1 of 1 found this helpful I use the L-10 on a Prima Photo monopod as a tilt device when I'm not allowed to bring a tripod. The monopod foot hooks into the enclosed belt loop to provide reasonably sturdy support.
Mostly, I use the L-10 as a very effective tilt device for multi-row panoramas. My rig is the RRS PC-Pro panning base mounted to a Sirui K40X ball head. The ball allows for quick leveling of the panning base. I use the RRS MPR-192 PPP nodal slide package to mount the L-10. I use a RRS B2-mAS clamp to change the L-10 quick release orientation from Lens to Camera plate type.
Through testing, I identified the no parallax point offsets for my 28mm and 55mm Nikkors. The scale on the MPR-192 allows for fast and repeatable setting. The L-10 makes nicely stitched multi row panoramas without the huge cost and complexity of a gimbal head or pano package.

A+ Fisheye for DX Nikon Cameras
The optical quality is great. When used with the Imadio Fisheye-Hemi plugin for Photoshop, it provides very usable, ultra-wide angle images.
As with all Nikon lenses these days, the optical quality is great, but housed in an all-plastic body. These light weight lenses are not the "built like a tank" all metal lenses of the past. Used with adult supervision, they will hold up OK.
The fisheye is not a zoom, so it is somewhat less mechanical than most DX lenses today. It has a macro mode, and the image quality is quite high. This is a specialized lens that many will find just a novelty and then sell off. Mine came in mint condition with low usage.
