Be-Bop Deluxe - Sunburst Finish [Remastered] (CD 1991)
This album is an excellent place to access Bill Nelson and Be Bop Deluxe's work. It is quite simply a masterpiece with almost no flaws and some moments that will make your skin tingle. Some of the guitar solos are breathtaking and Nelson never really hit these heights again. The tracks blend into each other like a concept album giving you no time to pause for breath before you witness another piece of aural perfection. Theatrical in parts and quite kitsch at times, it never becomes vulgar or cliched. Axe Victim, Modern Music, Futurama and Live Age all have there moments of brilliance but Sunburst Finish consistently delivers track after track.

Tapestry - Don McLean 1994
This was Don McLean's first album and has a much more rootsy feel than most of his later work. He takes on the the role of protest singer and social commentator with aplomb. The only track that fails to meet the mark is " And I Love You So " which was made famous by Perry Como in 1973. Released in 1970,Tapestry is obviously influenced by Dylan but stands on it's own with McLean's original vocals and instrumentation. This is a good album (can we still say "album"?), to listen to late at night with a nice bottle of beer - it's mellow and chilled and works for me.
WOLFSCOTE FEATURING CATHY LESURF - TURN THE GLASS - 2015 CD GORDON GILTRAP
09 Sep, 2023
Classy album with vocals from a female folk singer with a classy pedigree.
Cathy Lesurf sings with class while the musicianship on each track is superb. The CD flows gently with every track being as strong as the one that precedes it. It is obviously a folk album but it is not stylised to the point that it would exclude non folk fans.
