Wouldn't play any of my psp games

When I received mine, after charging it, it looked like it worked just fine. However, when I put a game in it, it made a scratching or clicking noise, and wouldn't play any of the games I have. I'm not sure if I got unlucky, but not being able to play any of my games is extremely frustrating.
