does the job
its cheap but it does the job well. able to charge my rayovac AA batteries with no problem. it already paid for itself charging 8 AA batteries

the tough reliable oldie
i had this reel which i gave to my brother-in-law as a gift 20 yrs ago. we fished hundreds of trips on partyboats and surf fishing together. this reel caught over a thousand fish easily and the drag and the gears never locked or gave up. all we did after each trip was rinse with fresh water and then sprayed it with pure silicone. never opened the reel for maintenance or re-greasing. this reel is tough as nails. i bought this one cause i wanted to replace what i gave my brother-in-law and i need a back-up surf fishing reel to my spinfisher 5. this was cheaper than the 5 and the 6th generation so i'd rather buy this one and i know it's been proven reliable. if you're looking for a 7500 size for surf or heavier line and don't have the money to spend on a slammer or newer spinfisher, go with this one. it's half the price and you will not be disappointed.
