Sounds of the sixties
If you're expecting a hi-fi, broadcast quality, all singing all dancing powerhouse of a machine - you're going to be disappointed.
If however, like us, you remember playing the "latest hits" on a little, vinyl covered record player in your bedroom, then you're going to feel like a teenager again.
The sound quality is a little on the "tinny" side - but that's part of the attraction - it makes the sound more "genuine".
It's got plenty of volume - I felt I was waiting for my dad to yell "keep that racket down"!
It's fun, it's a bit "rough and ready", it's basic and it's a whole lot of fun.
Being able to transfer your records to digital media is just a bonus.
For us, it was 1963 in a box and the Union Jack on the lid was straight from Carnaby Street with a bit of "I'm buying British" thrown in for good measure.
Being able to just close the lid and put it away is handy - although ours has been used every day since we got it.
The only bad point is that you can't close the lid whilst playing an LP - but you couldn't do that back in 1963 either.
One possible improvement I'd like to see would be the addition of an autochanger deck - so we could load up a pile of records instead of having to manually change after every single - but it's not really that much of a problem.
In summary.
If you want super hi-fi, don't buy this.
If you want "nostalgia in a box" - it's spot on. If only they could get that smell of hot valves, the experience would be total.
If you remember Radio Caroline, Radio Luxembourg on 208, the birth of Radio 1 on 247, listening to the latest hits in a booth at your local record store and the pleasurable anticipation that gripped the country waiting for the release of "Abbey Road" - then you're going to love this.Read full review

Easy to use, “Tinny sound”
Great looking case, easy to use, good instructions , spare needle included.
However..
Really annoyed the power adapter doesn’t fit inside the box when closed up.
Sound through built in speakers was as expected pretty “Tinny”. Recommend plugging in external speakers, which greatly improves sound.
Very good value for money, plug in your external speakers or headphones and sweet asRead full review

Great Entry Level Turnable
Needed a cheap yet reliable turntable for my old vinyl - the sound is more a traditional - not very much bass and a tad too much treble for my rock albums. The fact it has the software to import the vinyl onto your PC is good (not tried that yet) - so I can then play about with sound using the software provided. The Union Flag design makes it feel a little bit specialRead full review
