Cut Throat Razor at a Cut Throat Price....
Well, first off, snap the (supplied) cut- throat blades into two pieces. Sounds scary, but keep the blade in the paper. Then simply fold them lengthwise and through their age-old design, it simple works to perfection. You have two perfectly symmetrical blades.
Then unfold the three fingers of the razor itself. There are definitely three, but they tend to stick together when new. The half-blade fits between the matching two fingers, and the remaining finger is the keeper that locks the two in place.
Then Switch Your Brain On.
If I'd have had my time over, I would use a shaving oil such as"King of Shaves" to let the dog see the rabbit (I love animals btw, but I'm from Burnley which is close to Yorkshire) as shaving foam is asking for trouble with the device in the hands of a novice...
Then the aim is to do a single pass over each sector of one's face. You are supposed to hold your skin taught whilst one passes the blade downward at a thirty-degree angle to your skin, but
Jesus, even with 45 years of people paying me for working with my hands, it is very difficult and much too scary.
First pass is deceptive. I had a month of beard that was fertilised with (prescribed) testosterone injections and the fur simply parted with skin in a manner that was akin to a Hollywood film scene. Second pass was a little less sensational. Third one was back to Hollywood, but not in a nice way. Yes, there was blood. Forth one saw a lot more of the red stuff.
I should've stopped...
So, a great value thing. Genuine Wilkinson Sword blades. The razor itself is good quality and after being left in very wet conditions, hasn't shown any signs of corrosion whatsoever. None.
My advice would be:
Think about how much you really want to have a go at the Victorian way of things. You could go Edwardian and try a vintage Wilkinson Sword "Safety Razor" and only suffer a few cuts. Or go modern and have only one or two....
But the sheer quality of shave that this razor can provide may be worth the painful learning curve for the masochistic few?Read full review

Not bad
They say you get what you pay for and that is certainly true with this product although it is a little better than expected
Very light weight making it more difficult to use than heavier models r>But if you are just having a go at straight razor shaving it’s good value
