It's good quality, Hoffner, nice proportions. We have changed from an electric kettle and so there is a bit of getting used to an overall hotter thing, being metal rather than plastic. The plastic section of handle works well and doesn't get hot, but the metal front half which has the trigger for the spout cover does, so one needs to take care at that point. Almost too good-looking!

Tired of cheap but fast-boiling jug kettle and when I saw this Hoffner kettle I was 'boiled over' (sorry!). It is a beautifully elegant design and looks very graceful sitting on my hob. Boils well although not as fast as the ugly jug kettle - but this gives me time to stand and admire it! As a previous reviewer warns, keep your hand on the plastic wood-effect part of the handle. My only suggestion to the manufacturer might be to fit a hard-rubber fitting to the spout lid to avoid the noise of metal on metal when closing it.
