Not Worth It

Noisy thumping noise. Takes long time to "wake up" from sleep mode. Goes into sleep mode all the time. Transfer speed not as fast as other HDs.

Odd Mac OS integration

Great External Drive!

This is the third WD Easystore 8TB drive I have purchased in the last few months. Although I've only had the drives for a short time, they proven super easy to use and extremely reliable. I chose these drives because of the internals, which have been noted to be one of the more robust HDs that can be purchased in an external case.

Not as good as the MyBook

I have two (2) My Book drives. I expected this to work as well and be compatible with the My Book software or visa versa. This one won't use the drive tools and allow you to encrypt the drive. This drive software doesn't seem to backup as well as the My Books. Read full review

Fast transfer and huge capacity

I am a digital hoarder of photos and video, and needed a high capacity drive to back up a 3 TB and 4 TB drive. I installed an additional USB 3.0 card in my computer and now all drives and ports are 3.0.
