Wiska Combi Junction Box
German designed and made and so a quality piece of kit. These are now the only junction boxes I use (they do other bigger ones as well). The lid opens by quarter turning the four captive plastic lock nuts in each corner. Inside you get a terminal block and mounting strip. The mounting strip can be used to fix the box in awkward locations or you can use the holes provided in each corner for screw fixings.
The box comes with 8 pre-threaded (20mm) gland connection points, two on each side. Glands (plastic or metal) screw into the access and as you tighten it up a plastic membrane inside breaks away from the hole. The other access points remain sealed until used to keep the moisture out. As the holes are already threaded there is no messing about trying to tighten up a lock nut on the inside. The lock nuts aren't needed.
If you're using with SWA cable, to make the earth connection a seperate earth clamp is available; each of these span one side so do two cable entries.
I've found these to have plenty of room for whatever type of cable connector you might want to use or for the supplied terminal block. The bellied box cover does give you that extra bit of room if you need it.
Overall these are easy to use, light in weight and flexible. There are accessories you can buy to increase that flexibility if you need to and depending upon the installation you are doing. Read full review

Good size electrical box
Good size box for housing electrical connections outside. I didn't use the internal terminal block but instead used Wago connectors. Easier to use. Prefer use of cable glands rather than just relying on the rubber seal as the only protection for incoming cables. Very please and looks neat with the lights I put up. Time will tell if they stand the test of time, however I have other Wiska boxes and no issues with those.Read full review

Simply the best.
A very good practical junction box whether you are using standard outdoor cable with plastic glands or armoured cable with metal glands. I have 8 of these wired in for garden lights etc. The threaded cable entry ports are particularly useful. The belled lid gives you extra space inside if connecting several cables. Bear in mind that if using armoured cable you will need to also buy an earthing saddle clamp for each box to ensure cable armour earth continuity.Read full review
