Quirky, get a good one and have a friend for life...

The Vostok Amfibia is a great clone of all the workhorse automatics of the 70's and 80's. Big slab of stainless, chunky rotating bezel, and a crown 50% larger than a traditional diver. Bracelet is folded stainless, and feels lightweight but secure. Clean crisp dial with clear indicies, and subdued chapter ring. That's the good, a workhorse weatch that lookks pretty nice, and can dance thgat thin line between work and play, and still look sllighty foreign and exotic.

The bad? New Soviet Coolllectiviist Watch Design Commisars are terrible horological innovators. The winding/setting/adjusting workks in the crown and stem are a disaster. A loose sloppy hollowed out crown that operates utterly non-intuitively for any one who has ever set a watch, with strange back and forth patterns, and special trick your watch mechanisms hidden shortcuts. And an instruction manual that is only offered in Cyrillic. Ooof. Find a translation online before attempting anything with this one, you can break it with the first turn.Read full review

Great piece of Russian history

Very pleased with watch, a chunky piece of Soviet era technology. Looks good on the wrist and great for work or an evening out, instructions are not in english which is a bit silly in this day and age but easily sourced on line. Pity they dont do orange faced models as I think they would sell very well. Strap is a bit quirky and needed a few links removed to suit my small wrist.
