Solid product with a shortish handle which will get very warm in use.
The handle is quite short & made of cast iron, so gets very warm during use. An oven glove is recommended for handling/lifting when cooking. Otherwise a solid product.
Mine had a slight imperfection in the casting process, which extended all the way throught the cooking base, but can't comment on other similar products manufactured by Von Shef.Read full review

non non stick
Rubbish..There is a big rough spot on the frying surface and pre-seasoning partially came off after first use despite me following instructions to the tee. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of sending it back so i've wasted my time and money.Read full review

''Well made with a nice feel to it''
These pans have hardly changed from the days they were used by my dear mother many years ago. Her one is still in use by my sister 50 years on. This skillet is almost identical, very strong and well made. They are far removed from the run of the mill Teflon job and a delight to use. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed with this addition to your cook set. With care, it could last you for years. A great buy for the money.Read full review

great
good price and good quality. easy to keep clean with mild dish soap. Best of all, just use a paper towel and spread oil around inside and outside of pan. Looks like brand new.

Great skillet for the money
Works a treat big enough for 2 steaks on my induction hob, is preseasoned too, although I had received Seasoned it after use ( cooked a coq au vin first off in it so very acidic) , even survived a drop too, excellent product ....Read full review

Chef-like
Looks great, solid and heat retaining. Had to finally get rid of teflon and all the non-stick nonsense. Can now engage properly with my food. Got silicone handle cover - essential to successful use.

Fab skillet, great value !
Really good quality item, will easy last 20 years if you treat it right. The heat moves evenly across the surface and the handle does get very hot so remember to get a silicon handle cover for about £2,50. A little on the heavy side but cooks food brilliantly and cleans up really well. Very happy with this item.Read full review

Good quality, Bad finish
A well made pan and seasoned, but do not expect a good finish, there are blurts and scabs all over the cooking surface, mind you a little elbow grease and re-season.. good as new, well better, much better.Read full review

Just what I wanted
Pro;
Cheap
Fries beautifully - first time for years I've had a properly fried egg! Surprising how poor most other modern frying pans are including so called non stick
Works well on induction hob and everywhere else.
Cons:
Heavy- but inevitable - it's the mass of metal which makes a work so well.
Hot handle - could be wrapped with string in the old fashioned way
Short handle.Read full review
