Revolutionise the way you make tea

Not having to wait for water to boil to have a cuppa is wonderful, just keep an eye on it so it doesn't overflow and make a mess of your worktop! This dispenser isn't the quickest, pumping water out in bits, but as it warms up it gets faster and it's still faster than boiling a kettle - especially if you only use standard-sized mugs (I prefer massive ones). Plus it looks really cool!Read full review

crap kettle

If you turn the product off at the power i.e. the socket. Then try and use it. It blows the electric meter. Which is not a good design at all. I bought this my mother to use. She is 83 years old and had to get someone to sort out her meter. Because she couldn't get up the step ladder to reset the meter. So each time it's turned off from the power. You have to press the reset button before you use the kettle and my mum turn's everything off before she goes to bed. Have had to rate this product a one star otherwise it wouldn't let me submit. Otherwise it would have been a zero star rating. Sorry for being so harsh but it's not good when you have to keep resetting it before you use it againRead full review

Good, but with drawbacks

On the whole this is a good product. It heats just the amount of water needed quickly and quietly. However it does not quite heat the water to boiling point - just remember to put a little less milk in your coffee! It would also benefit from having a timed measured amount of water - you have to watch carefully so as to switch off at just the right moment to avoid overflow. And I absolutely DO NOT like the switch!! It is like a cheap rocker switch from a 1960’s car dashboard - stiff, sticky and unpleasant to operate! That all said, it delivers near-boiling water quickly without having to refill for every useRead full review

Fast to heat, slow to dispense

Great for a quick coffee, but for tea I have to warm the pot/mug first. If needing two or three drinks, it is quicker to use the kettle, especially for tea as this machine does not boil. I quite understand that the 2600w can't heat water fast enough to dispense it more quickly, but it does mean the drink is already cooling before you get out of the kitchen. It frequently continues dripping (20-30ml?) for a few seconds after switching off, so to avoid splashing, it is best not to remove the cup. Shame I need to keep a kettle on the worktop too.
Easy to use, and looks good.

easy to use

if you are a person that is on your own great product as turns out mugs in 20 seconds. You need to flush it through quite a few times to get rid of an after taste. Sounds expensive to buy but will get your money back over period of use as to boiling a kettle. good so far.Read full review

Water dispenser

The vonchef water dispenser does boil water quickly but i would have liked a one cup option as well as I have left it unattended and it has soaked the worktop.
My other gripe with it is there is an awful taste to it we have tried all the remedies but there still is a taint to it albeit not so bad now.
All in all not a bad product for the price.

Good but pricey

Great product which could do with a sensor to automatically stop the flow of water when the cup is nearly full. I would also say that at £40+ it's a bit expensive.

Good - some criticisms

Nozzle slightly too close to body, not allowing larger teapots to be positioned easily, so drip tray cannot remain clipped to body. No automatic cut off facility, can lead to water overflowing.

Glad I bought this for my mother

I bought this for my mother who is 94 and finds holding a kettle difficult. With this the on off button controls the water where other simular products have a set time limit on the water which could be dangerous for an elderly person.Read full review

Why didn't we get one before?

We were rather skeptical at first but now wouldn't be without it. In fact if there was a miniature version we would have one in the bedroom! Very quick and efficient and very easy to refill thanks to the free jug that came with it. Not only do we use it for making drinks but also for filling pans ready for cooking. Absolutely wonderful little machine.Read full review
