Much better than the junk that comes on the cans now.

I have a number of 5 gal. cans for diesel and gas. The "safety" spouts on the cans now sold are much more of a spill hazard than these original spouts ever were. And the prices are very high. Some of these new spouts have an instruction manual to enable use! I have converted all my cans to these type of old time spouts as used to be on cans. I drill a small hole on the top corner for venting and use a rubber cone plug from the hardware store to plug. When storing fuel, I leave the plug loose enough that any expansion in the can will vent or pop the plug out. Although that has not ever happened since they are stored out of the sunlight. ?These spouts work great.Read full review

Do not buy

I give this product zero stars.
These filler caps do not fit any of my gas cans. Additionally the spout caps do not fit onto the tip of the spout, even after heating per the instructions.
I have 3 different size gas “cans”, 1 gal. 2 gal, 5 gal. All 3 are different manufacturers, all 3 have the same size filler caps, all interchangeable.
One is Briggs & Stratton brand as stated in the add. These new caps don’t fit any of my cans!Read full review

Good Quality Gas Can Spout

This appears to be every bit as good as the original Rubbermaid aka Gott gas container spout but on close inspection I found that the gas screen was not present... not a big deal, I removed and installed the original screen in the new spout, but please be mindful of this or your fuel will not be screened as it was originally.
