A ground breaking book…

Most people who suffer from trauma get sucked into traditional talking therapy. Talking therapy relieves all of the symptoms of trauma in the short-term, but tends to re-traumatise, setting up a long-term unhealthy and debilitating pattern. Trauma Releasing Exercises works by bypassing the emotive/cognitive process using a series of easy stretches using muscles in the lower body and builds up to a little shaking in the legs. Once the body is shaking, you lie on the floor, and encourage these natural vibrations to move through the body, without trying to control them. These non intrusive tremors release tensions like nothing else I’ve experienced and are great as part of a trauma healing process. The book itself is inspiring although the pictures are very 1970s and off-putting, but fear not! Reading the book will reassure the reader that the exercises are based in sound theory. Dr Berceli worked and continues to work at a governmental/institutionalised level. Although TRE has been monetarist and there are numerous practitioners, Berceli makes it very clear in his book that most people simply do not need any guidance to use the techniques he describes. I’m a great believer in healing for all and I cannot recommend this book enough, I only wish it were cheaper, as I keep on buying them for friends and even acquaintances.Read full review...
