Works well, tricky to set up

The tool is priced so that it pays for itself with two alignment checks. I used it to set toe on my 2000 Honda Insight, which is a very low profile vehicle. It was necessary for me to remove a lower cover on the car that was blocking the laser light. I also used this on a flat grassy area and it was necessary to take a weed whacker and trim the grass really low so the laser was not blocked by a single grass blade. The device must be used in a low light area. I imagine in a garage would be ideal but I did not have access to such.

Once you get the beam set up, the device is quite accurate and easy to use. I judge accuracy on repeatability of measurement, which this device happily exhibited. Getting the beam aligned can be tricky, and it's easy to accidentally shoot yourself in the eye while looking at the far mirror, so be careful.

Like it!

I wanted to be able to do alignments in my garage. With 4 cars in the driveway, alignments at the shops adds up quickly.
The Track Ace looked good enough to try, and at $100ish, if it worked once, it was about paid for.
Out of the box I wasn't sure if it was worth it. The pieces seemed plasticky and flimsy. But all worked out.
It takes a lot of fiddling to get aligned. If you're working with just a floor jack and hand tools, you will be busy. Align or true the laser on driver's side, move to pass. side, take reading, raise car, make adjustment, drop car, roll back 6 ft to settle suspension, realign track Ace. Rinse and repeat till you are aligned.
I got quicker with practice, but it's still a lot of up and down and tweak etc.
Being in the garage keeps me out of the house, so I don't mind, but the Track Ace isn't much of a time saver.
I think if I invest in the "lazy susan" discs for under the wheels things will go much quicker.
All in all it's paid for itself already, and with at least four uses annually, I'll be saving some cash! How long all this plastic will last and remain accurate remains to be seen, however.

Excellent product

Just bought this product and it works as advertised. If you take your time and set this up properly it works perfectly.
Anyone claiming this gauge does not work or is not accurate, can blame themselves for not using it correctly.
I checked alignment on two cars and did it twice on each to check repeatability. Got the same reading for car one both times (it was out of alignment) and the same reading for car two both times (was good on alignment).
Then I adjusted both tie rod ends on car one to get toe in correct. Rechecked with Trackace and it was now in perfect alignment. Great product. Main thing I like is I can set alignment to the exact recommended specs rather than just inside the accepted range like they do when you pay some shop to align it.

pays for itself with one alignment check and toe in adjustment on my Lotus

Performing wheel alignment toe in checks and adjustments in my garage is convenient and easy with the Trackace Laser Alignment Gage. My first alignment check only took ten minutes. BONUS! I didn't have to make an appointment, transport the car to a repair shop, and break out the charge card. It paid for itself with the first use. Yes, it is plastic so handle it carefully.Read full review

Removes repairs anxiety.

This is a very good tool to help rid you of the anxiety of replacing steering parts when arranging a visit to the alignment shop may be difficult to do. If you only have a weekend to do your front end repairs and you need to put the vehicle back into use as soon as possible this is the tool for me and you. If getting an alignment shop appointment may mean time delays or simply the distance to drive the vehicle to the appointment then having a good initial setting of toe in/out from this tool negates these concerns. Easy to use.Read full review

Works good but feels cheap

I think it should be cheaper because it should be made of stronger material not plastic! and it should convert degrees to inches on the laser scale! It would be better priced at about $30-$50 but it does workRead full review

Precision gauge at a fair price

This gauge is not cheap, but for the money it is worth it. I have used rod type gauges and believe this type is much more accurate. Wheel alignments are not cheap and don't know how well done they are at a particular shop.Read full review

It really does not work

There are no provisions to be sure the unit is square with the front end of your car. The readings are just too subjective and non defined. The instructions are very vague as to how to actually use this deviceRead full review

Accurate and easy to use

Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to validate your readings and you can easily repeat the process to verify that you have the correct toe settings
