Tacoma Roof Rack

Great buy and good quality. Easy self install. Only issue is with instructions. They were not included. According to a manufacturer, the instructions must be obtained from Toyota. According to Toyota, you must have some special type of account to access the instructions on their website. All I can say is, thank God for Uncle YouTube. Do yourself a favor and do a little searching for install instructions before you buy. It's not hard but it does take a bit of time.

Very Disappointed

I am one to always look at the reviews and make most of my purchases based on those reviews. When I looked at the reviews on this product they were very positive. So I purchased this based on those reviews. The item came in a timely manner but getting it to fit was horrible nothing lined up I had to use a small screwdriver putting it in the holes and force everything in place. After several hours of installation the last bolt broke off and neither of the swivel arms fit without pulling and forcing them in. Also the passenger side where the Phillips head screw was had to be removed in order to get to the screws when doing so the nut on the other side fell out so in order to keep it from falling out masking tape was used to keep it in place. 2016 Tacoma roof rack

I ordered this item and it came as the Toyota manual said it would. Just parts. No instructions. The install directions on toyotas web page are not very good as they give steps backwards. Do not firmly hit the yellow "Christmas tree" down firmly until you have aligned the three other bolts first. Then use an awl to align the two holes for the bracket, then firmly smack down the front. If you do this, this install time is reduced by 75% install time. I suggest contacting your Toyota dealer and speaking to the parts department. Fit

Nice rack!

Installed on my 2017 double cab Tacoma. The rack went on the truck without a hitch and no gaps anywhere other folks have reported. I did kinda pre fit the front mounts and bent the front of the mounts where the plastic clips fit into down a bit before the install and got a perfect tight fit to the front of the roof as I was worried I might get the gap problem others have report. All fit together nicely with all the bolt holes lining up with no real hassles. Only other thing I recommend is to not crank down the bolts until you have all of them lined up in the factory bolt holes. I needed the extra slack to slightly adjust the racks to get all the bolts to line up with the factory holes. I love mine so far so I think they are a good investment. They also will give your truck a more aggressive look if that's what your going for. Look nice and function great. Just make sure to kinda finesse (bend) those front mounts down a bit so you don't end up with those ghetto looking gaps between the roof and the racks and you will be happy with them!Read full review

great look and fit for my '14 double cab Tacoma

I installed it myself and the only thing that I didn't like was the factory screws. They are cheap and if you use a screw gun be careful. It's better to use the ally ranch that is privided. Other than that, It i looks better than the custom ones and you have the option to stow it when not in use. Also, you will notice more wind noise but I don't think that is an issue.Read full review

OEM Roof Racks

Can't go wrong with OEM parts. Perfect fit and looks good too. About 100 lbs worth of load rating (below 75 lbs is probably safer/better). The stoable feature of these racks help reduce wind resistance and noise not to mention better milage as well. It's OK, but it will not work with a Thule cargo carrier.

The roof rack itself is fine, but at least on the double cab model the bars are spaced too far apart for even the largest Thule cargo carrier. After buying this rack I had to spend an additional $350 for a set of crossbars so I could use the cargo carrier. If I knew this I would have just bought a Thule roof rack to begin with.Read full review

Good quality

Everything is as described-took me about 45 minutes to actually put it on my 2015 Tacoma-just because the screw heads stripped almost immediately. I had to use a grinder to cut new notches.
